Student Vacation in Dubai: Schools to Close for Extended Spring Break

In a significant move, Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced an extended spring break for all regional schools. According to the KHDA, the upcoming school break will now span over two months, with students set to enjoy their student vacation starting on March 25.

Changes in Academic Calendar

Dubai’s schools, ranging from primary to secondary levels, will observe the extended spring break, aligning with the academic calendar adjustments made by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. This decision, endorsed by the authorities, is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the academic experience for students.

The spring break will commence on March 25 and continue for two months, providing students with an extended period to relax and recharge. During this period, students can engage in various activities and spend quality time with family and friends.

Specific Dates and Exceptions

Some schools may opt for a half-term break in February as part of the extended break. This break is expected to occur from February 12 to February 16, offering students a shorter respite before the more extended vacation period begins in March.

Additionally, for the academic year 2023-2024, the final day of the academic term is scheduled for either June 28 or the following week, marking the end of the academic year. These adjustments ensure a well-balanced and productive academic calendar for students and educators.

Public Holidays and Special Occasions

Apart from the scheduled spring break, students in Dubai can also look forward to additional holidays during public events and special occasions. For instance, the Eid break is anticipated from April 8 to April 12, providing students a week-long break in early April.

Parents and guardians are advised to stay updated with the academic calendar and plan accordingly for family activities and vacations during these school breaks.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the extended spring break in Dubai positively changes the academic calendar, allowing students ample time to relax and rejuvenate. The adjustments made by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority aim to enhance the overall learning experience for regional students.
