The UAE Digital Government clarified that citizens and residents must inform the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship of any changes to their Emirates Identity Card data within 30 days of the date of the change.
According to the UAE Digital Government website, the move will allow FAIC to update the data in the ID cards and population registration systems. This applies to Emirates ID cards that are issued to residents and non-residents. All citizens and residents of UAE must have a valid Emirates ID card. Any delay in renewing or obtaining the card will result in a penalty.
