The Dubai Metro, which transformed public transport in the emirate, is set to celebrate its 15th anniversary on September 9th. Launched on this date in 2009, the metro has become an integral part of Dubai’s daily life, connecting various parts of the city efficiently and conveniently.
This milestone will be marked by a series of celebrations under the theme ’15 Years on Track,’ featuring a variety of entertainment activities and special initiatives. To commemorate the occasion, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will release postal stamps and a special Knoll card emblazoned with the annual campaign logo and an image of Lego Middle East. Additionally, a range of souvenirs related to the metro will be available for enthusiasts.
A grand celebration will be held at Legoland Dubai on September 21st. As part of this event, a unique program titled ‘Metro Babies’ will be organized for children born on September 9th between the years 2009 and 2023. Families interested in participating can register through the RTA website.
Adding a sweet touch to the festivities, 5,000 metro-shaped ice creams will be sold to mark the anniversary. One lucky customer will have the chance to win a Noel Terhall discount card with their purchase.
In addition, the 4th Dubai Metro Music Festival will take place from September 21st to 27th, featuring music programs at various metro stations across the city. The festival will showcase performances by both Emirati and international musicians, adding a melodic note to the celebrations.
