Is it ‘single name’ in passport? UAE Visitor-Tourist Visa is not available

Dubai: The UAE National Advance Information Center announced that UAE visitor visas will not go to single-name passport holders. This does not apply to residence and employment visas. A visa will not be valid for those who give their name or sir only in one word. If a person only has Given Name Praveen in his passport, and nothing else is in the place for Sir Name, he will not be allowed to enter the UAE.

Visitor Visa Not Available in ‘single name’ passport

Officials from Indigo, Air India Express, and Air India Express stated that Sir Name Praveen was not acceptable, even though the given name may be empty. The same applies to a name that is Suresh (Space), Kumar in Given Name, or Sir Name. A single word of Sureshkumar won’t grant you a visa.

Importantly, UAE immigrations will also ban those with a single name on their visa passports. The law was in force for two days. Travel agents have instructed their customers that visa holders who have not yet been issued visas are exempt from this rule. They should wait at most two days.
